Re: Why Malaysia?
reddy84, could you please answer first: Why do you love Russia?
reddy84, ответь, пожалуйста, почему ты любишь Россию? и как тебе там живётся? не опасно?

Re: Why Malaysia?
Re: Why Malaysia?
Iskander, Businka, Guys, please don't use Russian in this sub forum and topic. That's why its called 'English Club'. You've got all the forum to use Russian apart from this tiny corner.

Re: Why Malaysia?
Pavel, OK, here is the translation: let's listen to readdy84 first!by the way, I know a Chinese guy living in Malaysia who used to study in Moscow before. so he told me that he still misses russian borsch, palaw and kvass
so I promised to invite him one day to my house and treat with borsch. the only problem is a beatroot here is kinda expensive...
Re: Why Malaysia?
Businka, there are a few restaurants in Malaysia where your friend can find Russian food. And dozens of them in Thailand. So you can save money on buying beetroot

Re: Why Malaysia?
reddy84, Well, as for me, I wanted to work somewhere in SE Asia. I had been to Asian countries many times before I've finally decided to move here. I narrowed my choice to 2 countries which were Malaysia and Singapore because people there speak English and it's quite easy to get an employment pass. I started with Malaysia and sent my CV to a couple of companies and got back a reply that they are happy to take me on board. That's how I ended up being here.
Overall I like Malaysia, but wouldn't like to spend the rest of my life living here.

Re: Why Malaysia?
If u think Russia is dangerous, skin-heads, hooligans, bla bla... Malaysia is NOT a safe county either. My house was robbed twice and i was nearly killed in one of the robberies! Wherever u go u have hooligans, thieves, murderers, rude people etc. etc. So there is no use complaining!!!
People: I must say. i'm blessed because i have awesome russian friends here in Kursk, Moscow, Voronezh. These people are just not friends but like a family to me. We hang out, party, do "shaslik", vodka.
U'll be amazed to know that i do have celebrity friends too in Moscow!
Russian are just patriots. I celebrated many of russia's wining with my russian friends on the streets of Moscow like when they won hockey recently, soccer against Holland, just awesome. Too bad Malaysians only talk too much but don't win anything!!
Place: Kursk is small town, not a place u want to settle down BUT an awesome place to study. Because no much distractions. But over the 5 years Kursk as changed a lot!! Its becoming more sinful (in a good way)!! I love Moscow so much; i visit it once every month. (i'm in Kursk) Nightlife - nothing comes like russia. Clubs are awesome, without "rules", wild people, dance floors are just sexy, strippers....
NO strippers and NO absinthe in msia!!
I never been to Petersburg and Sochi, yet!
Food: I love "tefteli", "gavaiskaya" salad, so many more. But somehow i feel, people with ukraine background cook better then the 100% russians! No hard feeling but that’s what i think. For example "borsh" and "Голбцы", although everyone can cook it, the taste is different. AND I LOVE "Korkunov" chocolates!! I LOVE THEM!! Not only me, but all my friend and family in Malaysia!! Every year when i come back, i bring hell lot of "Korkunov" chocolates!! I spend a fortune on them!!
Alcohol is of course cheap in russia.
Seasons: I love autumn and spring!! Love the tulips!!
There are so many other thing i love about russia that i can't mention in a public forum. So... that's all folks!!

Re: Why Malaysia?
reddy84, I was so surprised you study in Kursk as I am from Kursk! You study in KSMU, right? I met my future husband there and after that we moved to Malaysia and married here and due to his government scholarship we will stay in Malaysia for 5 years, that's my reason for "why Malaysia". By the way, probably you know my husband, Cheong Yaw Liang
thanks for so detailed explanation and sharing the happiness of living in Russia! Now should be the season of strawberry in Kursk so enjoy yourself!

Re: Why Malaysia?
Businka, wow its a small world. Yes i know him and your fairytale love story. The way he proposed, the beautiful wedding! Just awesome!! Congratulations by the way!! Happy married life! Strawberries are overflowing everywhere! Btw, i'm not sure if u know but Kursk has a new club "Blondie" but i still think Matrix is way much better.
AlexMax, i did meet Alla Pugacheva in person during her anniversary concert in April! But of course she is not the one i'm talking about. Btw, u haven't told us "why msia?"
Iskander, i am planning too visit it but just can't find the time. I will have to come back to msia if i want to work as a doctor. But, for love, i'll stay in moscow if i have to!

Re: Why Malaysia?
AlexMax, so u visit msia often.
I dont care if my parents read this forum. They aren't stupid not to know!!
As long as i produce good results in my exams and dont turn out to be an alcoholic or drug addict, they are fine with it!! I am just a social drinker!! Пью в компаниях изредка!! It not ethical in russia to say "no" when someone offers!!
And btw, who doesn't know that russian girls are hot!!?!!
