Вчера наш СБ-шник переслал по компании следующее сообщение:
Dear Colleagues,
What Happened:
At 2.00 am on Saturday, 6 December 2008, a female [....] employee, who was returning from a social event, was mugged close to the [...] KL office by motorcyclists. She was struck with a blunt object and suffered a head wound which required eight stitches. On arrival at the apartment complex where she lived, the security staff appeared not to know what action to take and the employee was helped to the hospital by passers-by living in the same complex.
Key Messages and Lessons Learned:
After midnight be extra cautious of your security.
Muggings occur in many cities, often late at night, in areas of poor visibility. This also occurs in the central areas of KL. Violence is increasingly being used irrespective of resistance by the victim.
It is always better to walk in a group or take a taxi no matter how close to home you are. Ensure somebody knows your travel plans and confirms your safe arrival at home.
If you have security at your apartment complex, ensure that an appropriate incident response arrangement is in place. [...] HR will initiate discussions with the management of these buildings where employees are staying.
Action:
- Share learnings with teams
- Discuss security issues with condo's management
- Remind employees to ensure that a friend or someone in HR has access to a spare set of keys
Please contact Helena or myself if you need further information.
Regards
Jonathan Smith
